Optus Business were looking to educate and raise awareness among the Aussie SMB market on the benefits of their Business Plus product and services suite. Optus wanted to position itself as a thought leader in the SMB space while demonstrating how Optus is more than just a telecommunications provider, they are a business partner. Optus Business needed sustainable media moments that would create owned content opportunities to help drive a sustained campaign across national and local media targets.
SOCIETY worked with a range of Optus Business stakeholders, external business leaders and mentors to develop the Optus Business Plus Roadshow series. The Roadshow visited Adelaide, Orange, Shepparton and Adelaide and featured keynote address by one of three Optus Business mentors - Mark Bouris, Jo Burston and Jamal Elsheikh, followed by a panel session with local business leaders to talk about the hot topics impacting SMBs today. The intimate breakfast events were held in conjunction with local Optus Business Centres and local chambers of commerce. A series of Tech grants were also announced throughout the Roadshow series. The events not only generated earned and owned media opportunities but also were developed specifically to support lead gen activities.
Ther Roadshow visited four locations and saw over 120 small business leaders attend over the month long campaign. Attendees represented new business opportunities for local Optus Centres and growth opportunities with existing customers. The Optus Business Centres that hosted an event saw immediate new business results, with enquiry levels across the board increasing by an estimated 200 per cent in initial analysis. Feedback proved the events resonated with attendees well and increased brand trust and love for Optus as a business provider.
