The Challenge

SOCIETY was tasked with announcing Unilever ANZ’s B Corp Certification. This task was multifaceted—we had to announce the certification, share what it meant for Unilever ANZ and its brands, and educate consumers as to what a B Corp actually is. Above all, our goal was to position Unilever ANZ as leading the way for businesses and consumers when it comes to common actions creating sustainable change.

The Solution

SOCIETY crafted an integrated PR strategy, incorporating a strong press office and social content that was shared across Unilever owned channels (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn). We secured an exclusive broadcast piece with Sky News Business, where journalist Ed Boyd interviewed Unilever ANZ CEO Nicky Sparshott about the announcement. We also pitched the announcement to a targeted list of key media contacts. For social media, we produced a snackable animation that listed all the reasons why Unilever ANZ was awarded B Corp Certification, and for internal communications we created an organic video, where employees spoke directly to the camera about the certification. Stakeholders, including media, were also shared an engaging infographic illustrating the how and why of B Corp certification.

The Response

Over the course of the campaign, SOCIETY achieved targeted tier one online and broadcast coverage, with the Sky News Business piece alone reaching more than a million people.
